I wish to go to Tahiti
As Colton entered into the monumental time of beginning High School, making new friends, playing on the soccer team, and finding his way as a teenager, he learned he was also about to face a difficult battle with leukemia. In February of 2016, Colton was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and fought his battle through chemotherapy treatments throughout his Freshman year.
Today Colton is doing great, he is getting back into the swing of things as a full-time student and picking up the game of golf. In 2019, Colton finished treatment, graduated high school, went on his wish trip and started college! Not only was his wish revealed to him live on air during the Results Radiothon, he was also surprised by his classmates chanting his name and sharing the moment he learned his wish would be granted – a testament to the North State community’s support of wish families and their journey.
Colton knew his heartfelt wish; to go to Tahiti! This fall Colton, along with his mom, dad and sister, spent 10 days soaking up the Tahitian sun. While there, they had a guided jet ski tour, a guided ATV tour, went snorkeling, fed the rays, went ziplining and explored the island. This wish for Colton was an opportunity to spend time with his loved ones as they reconnected as a family and gave them a life-changing experience he will never forget.
